Weather won't stop us

I've noted many times that I've been very fortunate with weather as it relates to wedding music over the years. Literally every time I've ever driven to a wedding in a downpour, it has stopped by the time I arrived at the venue, and I've never had to pull my gear out of the car in rain. That is a real blessing for a musician, and I hope it continues!

This weekend I had a wedding at the Mansion in Ofallon Il. The downpour started WHEN I arrived this time. Thankfully, the rain letup a few minutes before setup time and they had a beautiful outdoor ceremony with sunshine!

The Bride surprised me by writing me an email and giving me a review on the Knot within just a couple of days, so she must have really been happy:

David played for our outdoor wedding ceremony on Saturday, and I couldn't be happier! I knew I needed to book him when I saw Queen songs on his wedding repertoire! Everyone loved how he played "Somebody to Love" for the bridesmaids' processional. He also played the opening song from Pride and Prejudice for the seating of the mothers, which was perfect for my mom since she and I love that movie! And, for just a bit more $, he rehearsed a song with my maid of honor the day before, and then seamlessly accompanied her singing at the wedding. Everything went off like a dream. :) :) :) Sarah Stevenson

This was another busy weekend for music. Thursday night I played solo piano for an auction at Purina Farms. Friday night my wife Kim and I did a Songbird Duo gig at the Christy for the City of Ofallon's volunteer recognition dinner. Saturday I had the wedding followed by a solo piano gig at the Log Cabin, and then on Monday night the HammerString Piano Cello duo recorded a music video on location at the beautiful Silver Oaks Chateau. I'm really looking forward to the finished product!
